Treatment Center and IOP
As an Inpatient Recovery Center or Intensive Outpatient Program, you are well aware of how critical the transition from structured care to the “real world” can be. Many clients in early recovery, removed from intense supervision and support, find themselves in a fragile and vulnerable stage. The triggers of daily life, with demands of family and work, and the internal struggle of the same “people, places & things” make it very easy to “forget” all that was learned and accomplished during treatment and many find themselves back in the throes of their addition with little knowledge as to how or why that happened. The true goal of treatment is to change the clients thinking and patterns to such an extent that these new behaviors are implemented outside the safety net of true managed care. We want our clients to get their lives back and TBV can help.
Fortunately, there are structures of accountability that can be put into place that can help your client maintain their recovery. Along with the typical “tools” of recovery; sponsorship, connectivity to a strong support network and regular meeting attendance, TBV provides an easy to use app to improve both accountability and connectivity by helping your client stay on the path to sustainable recovery thru verified meeting attendance.
It is highly likely that your program recommends regular attendance at some form of self-help meeting at least for the first several months after treatment. The majority of facilities introduce their clients to these programs during managed care to help ease the transition in the “real world” by meeting others on the same path. It is common to strongly encourage your clients to attend 90 meetings in 90 days, find a sponsor, join a home group and actively pursue new healthy relationships with like-minded people. This can seem an overwhelming and daunting task with the inherent flaw of limited client accountability to the treatment providers or support team. These recommendations allow your client to solidify their new path, build a community of clean & sober friends and encounter others who have walked in their shoes. To date, everything relies on a system of “self-reporting” which is flawed.
Until now, there has been no REAL way to verify your clients’ compliance with the recommended meeting attendance protocol post discharge and between “face-to-face” meetings during IOP. TBV transforms this scenario and makes it simple to oversee this critical aspect of your clients’ progress as the ‘check in’ & ‘check out’ of each meeting attended, in-person and virtual. As is commonly understood, regular attendance at meetings, or lack thereof, is a powerful early indicator of compliance with other recommendations of the treatment plan. You will no longer have to rely on the antiquated and unverifiable self-report system of signed slips. TBV also eliminates the need for “blind trust” but rather helps your client build verifiable trust by eliminating the lingering thoughts of “did they really go”. TBV uses existing smart technology on mobile devices to “prove” attendance and help your client on the journey. The combination of biometrics, geofencing & geolocation lets you know it’s your client and that they are have attended a meeting, in-person or virtual. It’s really that simple. TBV also has the ability to add “organization specific” meetings to the database helping you track attendance at internal or course specific programming.
Most importantly, TBV improves the connection between treatment providers and their clients in real time. While nothing will ever replace the efficacy of face-to-face visits, TBV provides you an opportunity to encourage and support their recovery beyond your office walls. A true force multiplier! The client can check in with you whenever they need support or let you know how they are doing when things are smooth. Most importantly, TBV provides a real ability to know that people with whom they have broken trust, will truly KNOW how their recovery plan is going. The rebuilding of trust can be an incredible motivator in the recovery journey and TBV provides a tool to do just that.
